This course is intended for those looking to learn and implement digital digital techniques for restoring dental implants (single-units and bridges). We will discuss intraoral scanning workflow using scan bodies, abutment selection, dental design software, and digital manufacturing techniques (3D printing and milling). Discussion of custom healing caps will also be included with workflows including from a virtual implant treatment plan, as well as from a scan body.
Specifically, 3Shape dental system will be used during the course as the design software - although the fundamentals could be applied to other dental softwares.
About Dr. Eggebraaten:
Josh is a general dentist at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center. His focus is using digital workflows and technologies for patient care. Josh designs and manufactures the majority of his own cases including crown and bridge, occlusal guards, dentures, implant restorations (single unit, bridge, All On X), smile designs/wax ups, and surgical guides.
Josh leverages intraoral scanning, CAD software (3shape, Meshmixer, Medit Link Apps), and digital manufacturing methods (3D printing and machine milling). He has helped teach digital dentistry to VA residents and co-created a virtual digital dentistry webinar series for other VA sites within the Midwest to help implement these technologies in the clinics.
Josh graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2019, then completed a 1 year General Practice Residency at the Minneapolis VA from 2019-2020.
